Welcome to the Year 6 Latin Pages
Obviously you will be learning a lot more grammar this year, but you will have plenty of class time in which to do this. Prep will be going back over the Level 1 vocabulary that you learned last year.
You will of course still have the opportunity to read some myths and learn some more about the lives of the Romans.
Here is what you will be studying each term:
Autumn

Cardinal / ordinal numbers
Regular verbs – present, imperfect, perfect and future tenses.
Sum
Nouns: puella, all 6 cases
Roman background: The Theatre
Mythology: Perseus, Theseus and Jason.
Spring

Eo and possum
Roman background: amphitheatre and gladiators
Mythology: Hercules
Summer
Adjectives – bonus
Imperative and Infinitive
Roman background: Chariot racing and the Baths.
Mythology: Judgement of Paris, Achilles and The Wooden Horse
